Description
The Codling Moth is a lepidopteran, 15-22mm in length, of immense importance in pome fruit trees, especially apple, pear and quince. They can also attack other crops.
Number of annual generations
Normally 3 generations a year.
Damage
The larvae penetrate the fruits, dig galleries to the core and feed on the pulp, making the fruits commercially unsuitable. In case of heavy pest pressure, production loss can be very high.
